Oasis Foundation has created a platform of pro-bono lawyers, lawyers, human rights defenders from all regions of Kyrgyzstan to provide qualified legal assistance to victims of human trafficking with the support of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). From June 9 to 11, 2023, the first legal school for platform members was held.

The participants of the law school improved their knowledge of providing legal assistance to victims of human trafficking on the basis of case management, learned how to correctly identify victims of human trafficking together with partner organizations, government agencies in accordance with national legislation.

Special attention was paid to the protection of victims of human trafficking in the field of criminal proceedings. Participants learned more about systemic problems during investigative activities through case studies and discussions, improved their skills in comprehensive protection of victims during investigative activities and court proceedings.

The purpose of this event is to activate the role of pro-bono lawyers, lawyers and human rights defenders in the legal protection of victims of human trafficking in criminal cases related to human trafficking.

This event is being implemented within the framework of the project “Providing legal assistance to victims of human trafficking” with the support of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
