From September 28 to September 30, 2022, the Oeis Kyrgyzstan Foundation, within the framework of the project “Caring for One – caring for everyone” with the support of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) project “Safe Migration in Central Asia” implemented by Winrock International, conducted a training on “Psychological aspects of providing direct assistance to victims of human trafficking”. The training was attended by over 20 psychologists and social workers of crisis centers from all regions of the country who work directly with victims of human trafficking.
During the training, Tirza Schneider, an international expert in psychotraumology, shared her knowledge about trauma, the dynamics of psychotraumatic disorders, and the specifics of working with victims of human trafficking and violence. The participants of the training mastered stabilizing techniques, which are important when providing direct assistance. Special attention was paid to the methods of conducting sensitive interviews and working out emotional burnout when working with victims of human trafficking and violence.
