Almost 80% of the socio-economically vulnerable youth of Kyrgyzstan work in the illegal sector and are at the highest risk of becoming victims of human trafficking.

From May 12 to May 15, 27 young activists from Batken, Jalal-Abad and Osh regions took part in the Summer School on Safe Employment and Migration. During four days, participants expanded their legal literacy and knowledge about safe employment and migration, internet security and human trafficking prevention through simulation exercises, quests, quizzes and debates.

This event was held by Oasis Kyrgyzstan in close cooperation with the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek and the Center for International Defense Assistance under the START FREEDOM project with the support of the US Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic, also within the framework of the OSCE project “Solving migration problems and strengthening efforts to combat human trafficking“.
