At the end of the year, Oasis Kyrgyzstan presented the results of the study “Orphans and children left without parental care. Post-institutional care life arrangement”. Also, a mobile app to support vulnerable children was presented to all partners and stakeholders.
During the meeting, they discussed the rights of care leavers from orphanages and other institutions to receive public services and municipal services, as well as to respond to their needs from government agencies. The experts recommended to improve the mechanism of post-institutional support of vulnerable children and youth at the proper level. The participants also noted the lack of interagency cooperation. In this regard, at the meeting, recommendations were made to the government on improving the mechanisms of post-institutional support for care leavers and their adaptation in society.
The event was organized within the framework of the project “Care Leavers Advocacy” with the support of the German Embassy in Bishkek.
